SLOP x DUDA DINER is throwin’ a full-blown BBQ bash; no guest list, no faff, just bare flavours and good vibes. We’re servin’ up DUDA BURGERS stacked with juicy beef patties made from scratch to hit like a proper Ramly Burger, ...secret recipe, don’t ask! Plus, Sarawak peppercorn sauce and a cheeky milk bun. Satay kambing brings the OG 'pasar malam' vibes with that thick peanut drip. Terung Bakar’s smokin’ with crispy anchovies, ulam ulam’s fresh off the jungle with sambal ricotta and Kerabu Tembikai’s the watermelon salad you didn’t know you needed. And don’t sleep on Freddo’s Scoop: salted bay ice cream, homemade in East Dulwich with Taihaochi’s sesame cumin chilli crisp. Basically: come hungry, leave speechless. Powered by our ride-or-dies; Shrub Provisions, Farmer Tom Jones, Elsewhere Coffee and the whole DUDA crew.
Our Journey
"...FOOD IS OUR LOVE LANGUAGE"
DUDA DINER started with us; Hakeem and Zura - a Malaysian couple cooking, dreaming and building a life together in South East London. Our food is rooted in the things we love most; mom’s cooking, our favourite local makan spots back home and those unforgettable roadside meals that always hit the spot. We take those flavours and adapt them to create a menu that’s playful, personal and always full of heart.
DUDA isn’t a real word. It’s a feeling, an expression! It’s the hum we make when we’re cooking, the little rhythm of joy that fills the kitchen. That little dance you do after the first bite, the grin you can’t hide when something tastes just right, that’s “dudadu dudadu!”. It’s our way of saying “This is it!”
At DUDA DINER, we do family-style. Vibrant plates in the middle, pass it here, pass it there. We press pause on life and focus on what’s in front of us. Good food, good people and a moment to just be. It’s the way we eat at home and the way we love to feed others.
When the pandemic unexpectedly left us grounded in Morocco, it was Malaysian food that kept us grounded in joy. Cooking became our way of staying close to home and sharing that comfort with the community around us. That little spark turned into something bigger when we returned to London! We’re keeping the DUDA spirit alive with a pop-up kitchen, a supper club and a space for stories and memories - all while serving seriously finger-licking-good Malaysian classics and putting our personal favourites on the map, one plate at a time.
DUDA DINER is our love letter to Malaysia, but it’s also our legacy for our four kids; Thalia, Alaia, Anais and Idris - continuously sharing Malaysian food, not just as comfort, but as culture and celebration.
